Graham Roberts has suggested that Tottenham could be a good move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
He burst on the scene as an 18-year-old with Benfica back in 2015, which attracted the attention of Bayern Munich the following season.
However, it never quite worked out for the youngster during his four seasons with the Bundesliga giants, which included a failed loan move to Swansea.
Sanches left Munich two years ago to join Ligue 1 side Lille, and finally started to show his potential with the French outfit – scoring once and assisting three times in their shock title-winning campaign last term.
Such is the 23-year-old’s form, according to reports in France, Nuno Espirito Santo is now keen on bringing him back to England this summer, with Lille willing to cash-in on the talented midfielder.
He featured in all four of Portugal’s matches at Euro 2020, two of which were from the start, and having found a settled home in France, has seen his career move in the right direction.
With that in mind, Roberts exclusively told The Transfer Tavern that his former side could be a future home for him:
“He did very well for Portugal. Swansea wasn’t the right move for him, and I think personally he could be a very talented player, but you must be at the right football club.
“And I think Tottenham could be a good move for him.”
