Melton, as a 23-year-old rookie on the LPGA Tour, was taking part in that event for the first time. She made the most of the opportunity to rub shoulders with the best in the world, but failed to make the cut after posting a disappointing score of +21 through her opening two rounds.

Melton was, however, still all smiles on and off the course – particularly when crossing paths with United States international Pulisic. The AC Milan forward was able to take in the tournament – which took place in his native Pennsylvania – after sitting out the Rossoneri’s post-season trip to Australia.

THE GOSSIP

It is now being suggested that Pulisic and Melton may be more than just friends, with two sporting stars that have reached the top of their chosen professions appearing to enjoy one another’s company. Pulisic has poked fun at himself when replying to an Instagram post from Melton, with the 25-year-old suggesting that the image in question has him wearing a “crop top”.

WHAT NEXT?

Melton did play a lot of soccer herself when growing up, while also showing promise in softball, but eventually opted to focus her attention on golf. It may be that she gets the chance to return the favour with Pulisic over the coming weeks and watch him in action at the Copa America – which will take place on U.S. soil and gets underway on June 20.
