When Southampton signed Mario Lemina from Juventus during the summer, they looked to have a real player on their hands.
The Gabon international was a real force in central midfield during his early outings for Saints, showing not only the power and anticipation to win the ball back but also the grace and technical ability to protect it in the middle of the park.
But amid a season in which the south coast side have unexpectedly slid towards the relegation zone, Lemina – who Transfermarkt value at £13.5million – has found himself marginalised over the last few weeks, his last start coming on Boxing Day with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oriol Romeu seemingly preferred in the engine room by manager Mauricio Pellegrino.
So, with Tottenham Hotspur due to visit St. Mary’s on Sunday and lay down a real test for Southampton, is it time to bring Lemina back into the starting XI? Let us know by voting below…
